Expertise Areas

User and Society is my primary area of expertise as a user-centred designer because this perspective combines objectivity and empathetic subjectivity to deeply connect with the user. In contrast, I have learnt to use Business and Entrepreneurship to evaluate why my designs have a place in society and how they can be aesthetically, technologically and conceptually shaped to have an impact. As an engineer, Technology and Realisation skills are my second greatest strength because they allow me to pre-emptively speculate concept feasibility and execute high-level making. Math, Data and Computing, make up the backbone of quantitative research and engineering, integrating into all my work. Creativity and Aesthetics similarly feature in each project with creativity acting as the facilitator for collaborative, explorative making and aesthetics acting as a bridge between concept experience and prototyping methods.

Explore the graph below to see how I’ve developed my expertise areas in different courses throughout the semesters (s1-s6) of my Industrial Design Bachelor. (Scored 1-3 according to significance of impact on my Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge)
